A Benefit of being a Small Town Girl

One of the many benefits of being a small town girl is being in the local paper. Now I've been in the paper since my birth announcement AT LEAST more than four times a year.
A friend of the family works for the paper (also a benefit) and wrote up this article on me. All this information was in my first blog post but some of the people who do not have a computer or internet do not get to see this so this article is something for everyone to see.

Also sometime before I go Lambton College will have a write up on me and I will post the link here once it is on their site.

Other than this no new information really. The days before I leave are getting shorter and shorter and I am getting more excited each minute!
Remember if you wanna post anything, maybe about where I should visit while I'm over there or activities I should do feel free to post any time :)

Thirty and a confession

Today today today oh what a day it is! Only THIRTY, that's right, 30 DAYS until I leave for England! I am beyond words of how excited I am about this. I started this blog at 131 days and it's already at 30! My how the time flies when one is in anticipation about a big adventure :)

News news news whose got some news?

I have everything lined up for my trip. My VISA came in the mail a couple of weeks ago, my tickets will be available to pick up in about two weeks and my parents bought me some pretty cool looking luggage and carry on set as a gift (thanks Mom&Dad you rock). Now I just gotta figure out what I'm packing and what's staying behind, which I believe will be the most difficult part of my trip.

For those of you who know me very well I am kind of a shopaholic...sorry the first rule is to actually admit to the problem. I, Allison Steven, am a shopaholic. Glad I got that off my chest. Anyways, I do have a lot of clothes that I either really really love or are for special occasions  which hardly get worn but don't want to get rid of just in case I can wear it somewhere else. I have been getting better this past year though since I had to pay for rent and bills so my closet size has been shrinking and my friends closets have been growing :)

And I know what you are all going to tell me, "England rains a lot so pack for just that type of weather" when in fact the au pair with the family now has been telling me that it's beautiful and sunny over there when we've been having all this rain. Packing will be tough to do but thanks to my Dad for being an amazing packer I think I can fit my whole closet with me :)

Only joking, but it will be a struggle.
